Carnauba Wax Extraction
From July to February, harvest season, the collection of the green leaves of carnauba palms are made with ability by the natives who use a long stick that has in its tip a cutting knife.
Once carnauba leaves are spread over the ground to be dried up in order powder must be removed by a ancient procedure which is the beat of the leaves.
After that, the powder obtained from the beaten process is melted and squeezed in a wooden claw. On most of the times, this primitive process is made by exporters who extract the powder on the solvent extractor equipments.
Then, the cooling is made on flat tanks which product is broken into “lumps” with colors that ranges from light yellow to dark brown. It is the crude wax, ready for the manufacturing process at the exporters plant.
