Philantropic Entities

Carnaúba do Brasil has a policy of collaboration with philanthropic entities to help those in need. The entities chosen are shown below and you can see more information about each of them in their websites, clicking on their logo.

The Early Childhood Institute (Instituto da Primeira Infância – IPREDE)) was founded in 1986 in the city of Fortaleza in Ceará state by a group of professionals concerned with the condition of children with severe malnutrition and living in situations of social vulnerability and poverty.

At the time, the chronic malnutrition rates shown in populational studies carried out by the National Health and Nutrition Research (Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde e Nutrição – PNSN) stood at around 30%. Currently, malnutrition has dropped to 7% and the death rate to less than 20 children for ever 1000 born, which has led to important progress in the Institute’s mission. IPREDE has become a benchmark in early childhood, in addition to becoming a space for production, learning and the dissemination of the topic to the community through the development of actions aimed at several sectors of society, the institute also shares technical-scientific knowledge and the production and promotion of culture and art as an instrument for awareness and to value citizens in order to empower mothers and encourage the social inclusion of the families under their care.

The House of Hope (Casa da Esperança) is a non-governmental organization founded by Fátima Dourado in 1993 in the district of Luciano Cavalcante in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará state. Built on a 10,000 m2 lot, in a proposal to offer a full life and other rights inherent to those who have been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, the area continues to be maintained despite the many challenges. The House serves 460 people aged between one and 50.

The House is staffed by 200 professionals among which doctors, psychologists, teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social care workers, nurses, physical educators, musicians, instructors, administrative and support personnel. The entire staff is involved in the many activities that make up the main programs of the organization, which are health care, specialized education, family, production and the dissemination of knowledge about autism and the guarantee and protection of rights of people with autism and their families.

In 2018, Carnaúba do Brasil partnered with the Association of Women of Faith (Associação Mulheres de Fé), an entity that works towards preventing cancer and caring for women diagnosed with breast cancer in the region of Itarema, northeast of Ceará state. The same region where the company is located. The Association of Women of Faith was founded by Lucilene Bleasby in 2016 after she won her fight against the disease and she has, since then, continued to help and increase the wellbeing of women who are going through or have gone through the same experience. Carnaúba do Brasil ensures that the Women of Faith are given the conditions to continue their work and ensure that those afflicted with the disease in the region get the help they need from the entity.
